The Institute provides a limited number of single-bedroom accommodations for students. Due to the restricted availability, these rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to students who can provide verified medical documentation of need. While the Institute strives to meet student accommodation needs, the availability of single-bedroom arrangements cannot be assured until official confirmation is provided.
1. Eligibility and Application Process
All enrolled students are eligible to apply for single-bedroom accommodations. Students who wish to request a single room must indicate this preference when submitting their housing request form. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received.
2. Priority for Students with Medical Needs
Priority consideration for single-bedroom placement will be given to students with documented medical conditions that necessitate such accommodations. Relevant medical documentation must be submitted from a licensed healthcare provider or directly from the student’s home institution.
The Institute’s Health Services Office will review the submitted medical documentation to determine eligibility. Priority will be given to students with documentation from their home institution regarding health-related housing accommodations, as this documentation has typically undergone a formal vetting process, compared to a letter from a therapist or other health professional without institutional verification.
3. Room Confirmation and Allocation
Students will receive a confirmation email once a single bedroom has been secured. To finalize the reservation, students must sign the single-bedroom agreement via the application portal and pay any outstanding supplemental fees. Until the confirmation email is received, the agreement is signed, and payment is complete, the room assignment is not guaranteed.
If demand exceeds availability, students will be placed on a waiting list and notified if a room becomes available. Students have 48 hours to accept the offer by signing the agreement and paying the required fee.
If all available single rooms are allocated, students requiring a single room (subject to availability) may opt to pay an additional fee equivalent to the non-discounted housing fee per student for the session.
4. Additional Housing Considerations
Due to the diverse nature of ISI Abroad’s housing options, single rooms are located throughout different apartments. As such, it may not be possible to accommodate both a request for a single room and other preferences indicated on the housing form, such as specific roommate requests, location, mobility, or personality preferences. Students are encouraged to clearly prioritize their needs on their housing form, which may be updated by contacting their ISI admissions advisor. If a single room is the student’s top priority, other preferences may not be fulfilled.
Single bedrooms with private bathroom accommodations are even more limited. Students with documented medical needs will receive priority for private bathroom requests, though other preferences may be limited in such cases. Additional fees may apply.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Once a single room reservation is confirmed, it is non-refundable, even if a student cancels their enrollment or changes their accommodation plans. If a student vacates the room before the end of the housing contract period, no partial refunds will be issued.
6. Payment and Financial Obligations
If the student is responsible for the payment of any additional single-room fees, rather than their home university or provider, a separate invoice will be issued. Full payment for the single-bedroom accommodation must be made by the specified due date. Failure to remit payment by the deadline may result in the forfeiture of the assigned room.
For additional information or inquiries regarding single-room requests, please contact the ISI Abroad Admissions Office at admissions@isiabroad.org. Students are encouraged to apply for single rooms early.
